Job Summary
Magnolia Pediatric Dentistry + Orthodontics is a private practice located in the Wicker Park/Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. We are looking for a Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our wonderful team! We look for a dental receptionist/assistant who:

  • Are flexible, team players who will perform front desk reception & administrative duties (answering phones, scheduling patients, accepting payments, etc) along with flex to back-end dental assistant functions when needed
  • Create positive patient experiences, greeting patients and parents with a warm smile and a THANK YOU for choosing our office!
  • Provide a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere for children
  • Obtain medical and dental history and/or records from patient.
  • Complete x-rays as appropriate
  • Prepare tray setups for dental procedures
  • Assist dentists with patient prep, suctioning, instrument and materials presentation
  • Cleaning/prophy
  • At the direction of the pediatric dentist, instruct patients on postoperative and general care
  • Patient charting and doctor notes on treatment record.
  • Maintain clean, sterile environment, including operatory, equipment, instrument sterilization & disinfection, in accordance with dental guidelines.
  • Restocking
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations.

One year of experience working as a DA is required and a history of working with children is a plus. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

Must have a current CPR certification, or be willing to obtain such certification within one (1) month of employment.

Skills

  • Coronal Polishing and Sealant certification
  • Nitrous oxide monitoring
  • Computer / dental software proficiency
  • Radiography / digital sensors
  • Sterilization (autoclaves, ultrasonic, handpiece equipment)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 2 Saturdays a month
  • Hours vary by day, generally 8a-5:30p weekdays, 8a-1p Saturdays

License:

  • Coronal Polishing (Required)
