This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments, confirmations, and reminders.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of treatment rooms and sterilization of dental instruments.
- Process patient intake forms and update patient information in the electronic health record system.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and managing correspondence.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Handle billing processes, including insurance verification and payment processing.
- Maintain inventory of office supplies and dental materials, placing orders as necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such Open Dental is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical and dental records management and acute care practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Understanding of practice management principles and fiscal management in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of JCAHO and HIPPA standards is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
