We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining our patients' oral health. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist during procedures.
We are a small private dental office. Therefore, patient experience is highly valued in our practice. You will have an hour per patient (regular prophylaxis) and an hour per quad of SRP. You will be responsible for your own hygiene sterilization and x-rays.
We are a tight knit office. We always help each other if we are free and see a colleague in need of assistance.
Bonus system available after 30 days. Bonus system includes selling treatment and collections bonus ;). Will discuss further during phone interview.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Perform oral cancer screenings and take X-rays as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations
- Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring patient comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care
Skills:
- Proficiency in OpenDental or similar dental software systems
- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
- Experience working with pediatric patients in a dental setting
- Ability to take vital signs and record medical information accurately
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor
- Commitment to maintaining strict infection control standards
Requirements:
- Degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
- Active state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist
- CPR certification
- Prior experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus
