Full job description

Your studies in Health Science, Biology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or other science-related major coupled with a drive to help others is the perfect foundation to build a great career in Orthodontics! Discover the fun of working “hands on” in a stable industry that offers a healthy workplace, positive relationships, and amazing work hours!

No prior medical/dental industry experience required!

Green Orthodontics, the private orthodontic practice of Dr. Noam Green, is growing! Our upbeat, close-knit team is seeking another delightful co-worker to add their smile and expertise to our group. What defines our practice? The people! We are a true team whose members share the value of doing our absolute best for each patient/parent that entrusts us with their care. Our patients are like family, and we want each visit to be a welcome “homecoming.”

Could this be the career you are seeking?

Do you prefer to “move around” at work and enjoy the idea of not having a “desk job”? Are you seeking work that offers a positive, mental challenge? How about a career that works with your hands, interfaces with children and adults, keeps you busy all the time, utilizes the coolest technology, manages meticulous details, and works in a team-based setting? Are you seeking work that allows you to see the measurable impact of your work from one patient’s visit to their next? Did you just say “YES!” out loud? Then, let us tell you more!

How does training work?

The position of “orthodontic assistant” encompasses a wide range of “on-the-job” trained skills from instrument sterilization/management, inserting and replacing wires, delivering “invisible braces,” giving braces instructions, cementing appliances, documenting records, re-bonding brackets, and all the while, to hearing the latest “knock-knock” joke from your 8-year-old patient who is laughing all the way through to the punchline! Green Orthodontics offers an organized, well-supported, in-office training program that begins with the most basic of skills and, over a series of planned weeks, introduces new learning goals as prior skills are mastered. Your focus and commitment impact your income; wages increase as each new learning module is introduced.

What are the qualifications to apply?

1. A desire to work a full-time position (Monday - Thursday is your permanent work schedule. Yes, with rare exception, every weekend is a 3-day weekend and Thursdays end by 3:30PM!)

2. Prior customer-service experience and being at ease (and enjoying!) conversation with “most anyone of any age.”

3. The right background. Which of these descriptions matches to you? Candidates with prior orthodontic experience are welcome to apply. We are also seeking candidates who have credit hours towards or who have earned a BS or BA in Exercise Science, Biology, Kinesiology, Health Science, Art Studio, or people-focused related major. Resumes of candidates with stable work experiences demonstrating customer service skills and professional or personal interests that demonstrate fine motor skills and excellent hand-eye coordination are also welcomed to apply.

4. Excellent, verifiable work-related references.

5. Computer friendly- software savvy aptitude with fast, accurate and detailed data entry.

6. Preference to have a career where you are NOT sitting in front of a computer for most of your workday! Orthodontic assistants are “on the move and up and own”; standing, walking, sitting, turning… this role is the right match to those who enjoy being active.

7. Initiative to study to learn terminology, processes, procedures, and software that are industry specific.
