Full job description

San Antonio based private practice ISO of full time provider (DDS) to join our organization. Our organization has been providing dental services to the San Antonio/New Braunfels area for over 25 years and has an established patient base with consistent growth.

Position Summary: Dentists are responsible for patient oral hygiene, providing

preventative, therapeutic and oral health education instruction for the patients of

the practice. Dentist must be in good physical condition and function under

periods of stress and heavy demand. They perform hours of standing, walking,

stooping, bending, and sitting. They must exhibit good vision, manual dexterity and

good eye/hand coordination.

Duties:

1. Review and update patient medical histories, noting remarkable conditions and

disease.

2. Document existing restorations, conditions and disease that might affect the

patient's oral health.

3. Expose and interpret x-rays as per TSBDE and Center guidelines.

4. Diagnose dental disease and determine treatment options

5. Sequence care and present treatment

6. Refer to administrative staff for explanation of insurance benefits and payment

options

7. Provides treatment as per his or her recommendations

8. Refer for specialty care as indicated

9. Instruct patients on oral hygiene techniques, answer questions and provide

educational information specific to case needs.

10. Practice universal standards of infection control.

11. Provide administrative support for maintaining patient records, prescriptions

and lab communication.

12. Participate and actively work on maintenance of his or her appointment books.

13. Use the BRAN system for comprehensive patient education of diagnosed needs

A – give “alternatives”

N – explain consequences if “nothing” is done

Present one or two of the best options that clearly address the problem for

the patient

Requirements:

Graduate of an approved Dental School Program

Licensed to practice dentistry in Texas

Computer literate

CPR certified

Up to date on all TSBDE licensing and CE requirements

Competencies:

Work independently

Maintain a friendly attitude under stress

Speak and write fluent English

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent customer service

Skilled in prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines

Interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural,

educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Engage well with managers, co-workers and professional staff.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $200,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
